When No One Cares Who Gets The Credit.

By: James Smith

There is no limit to what can be accomplished when no one cares who gets the credit. It is important to cast a vision of servanthood to lay leaders and those in the church who serve the body of Christ.

1. Preach servanthood.

There can be no greater example of servanthood than Jesus Christ. He was someone who could have expected everyone to serve Him. However he continually offered himself as the servant of all. You get what you preach. If the church needs to be reminded to serve one another, Preach servanthood.

2. Live servanthood.

If Jesus can do it, so can the preacher. People live by our example more than what we preach. If we preach servanthood but live lordship, people will become confused and view it as hypocrisy.

3. Reward servanthood.

Praise those who put others first. Openly applaud those who go out of their way to put others needs before their own. Jesus said, “When you’ve done it to the least of these, you’ve done it unto me.” He wanted us to know how important servanthood was as

4. Expect servanthood.

People will perform the way you expect them to. Believe in the potential of servanthood in your congregation. Let people know unselfish acts should not be rare, but the norm in the Christian church.

5. Evangelize via servanthood.

When we put other’s needs before our own and go out of our way to meet those needs, it is very attractive to the world. Society encourages others to worry about themselves. However, many people are tired of the dog eat dog world they live in and desire to be a part of something that blesses others.

Tired Of The Results You Are Seeing?

By James Smith

Insanity is doing the same thing over and over and expecting different results. If you are not pleased with the results you are seeing in a given ministry or program, make a change.

Positive change requires vision.

Vision is always needed to begin a new ministry or program, but it is also needed to continue it. We too often allow vision to guide us to begin something, but then leave vision out of the picture when growth or decrease begin to happen. It will take constant vision casting to cause a given ministry to continue to have growth.

Famous Quotes by Bill Clinton

1. "It's the economy, stupid." —Bill Clinton on Finance and Economics

2. "I ask you to join in a re-United States. We need to empower our people so they can take more responsibility for their own lives in a world that is ever smaller, where everyone counts. We need a new spirit of community, a sense that we are all in this together, or the American Dream will continue to wither. Our destiny is bound up with the destiny of every other American." —Bill Clinton on Politics Government

Quotes about Clinton

Bill Clinton is generally viewed as one smart politician, having been twice elected the President, helped by lackluster Robert Dole, having survived the Lewinsky sex scandal, lying under oath about sex, and impeachment. When is it all about himself, he is cunningly smart.

Ralph Nader, Washington Times, January 28, 2008. The idea of Bill Clinton back in the White House with nothing to do is something I just can't imagine.

Mitt Romney, Republican Debates, January 25, 2008.

Then the big white whale, Clinton. What about someone who is a war criminal, a taker of bribes from foreign dictatorships, almost certainly a rapist (plausibly accused, anyway, by three believable women, of rape), executed a black man (Ricky Ray Rector) who was so mentally retarded that he was unable to plead or to understand the charges â" You're against all that, right? But you're for it when it's someone who you think is a "New Democrat".

Connect With People

By: James Smith

If you desire for people to follow you, you have to connect with them. The catalyst of your relationship with them at any level may very well have to be a result of your constant effort to associate with them. An unbeliever’s only basis for coming into the knowledge of truth may well be his relationship with his teacher/preacher.

Connect with them on a personal level. Find out what it is that interests them and try to find a common interest. Get to know them personally. Visit their home. Invite them to yours. Go places with them. Let them know you care for them on more than a Pastoral level. If they consider you to be their friend, they will support you much more than if you are only an authority to them.

Connect with them on a professional level. If he is a doctor, read a few books on the latest surgery procedures. If he coaches football, learn a bit about the game. If she is a teacher, talk education with her.

Connect with them in your preaching. Personalize your preaching. Major newspapers write their articles on the 6th grade educational level. Hence they are able to reach a broader audience than if they wrote them on the college level where most people may not understand certain wording. Bring bible stories and situations into present day circumstances. Touch home once in a while.

Connect them to others in the church. Without good relationships in the church, new converts do not stay. If a person has only a few people they are connected with in the church, their chances of staying are much higher than someone who does not find relationships within the church. Create ministries to get them connected.

Turn Failure into Achievement

By: Rev. James Smith
Ministries, 6050 Trailcreek Ave, Portage, IN, USA

Is it even possible? Can you really turn failure into achievement? What is it that makes the difference? Why are there some who seem to accomplish so much with their lives? Is it...

Family Background - Having a good family growing up is something to be grateful for, but it's not the reliable indicator of accomplishment. High percentages of great men have come from broken homes.

Wealth - Some of the greatest men of accomplishment have come from households of average to below-average means. Wealth is not an accurate indicator of high achievement, and poverty is no guarantee of low achievement.

Opportunity - Opportunity is a very peculiar thing. Two people with the similar gifts, talents, and resources can look at a situation, and one person will see tremendous opportunity while the other sees nothing. Opportunity is in the eye of the beholder.

High Morals - I wish it were that simple and that this were the key, but it's not. I've known people with high morals but were low achievers and I have known scoundrels... rats who were high producers.

The Absence of Hardship - For every success who has avoided tragedy, there's a Helen Keller who overcame extreme difficulties or a Viktor Frankl who survived absolute horrors.

None of these elements are the key. The difference between average people and achieving people is their perception of and response to failure.

Nothing is great in the beginning stages of when God first starts working in a man's life. That man's prayers will be elementary. His efforts will be clumsy and uncoordinated. His whole sense of walking with God will be spent in the shallows. But if that man refuses to give up or if he refuses to give in, if his desire and determination and his sense of purpose will capture his emotions, then God will work with his life.

It takes time, persistence, and desire. These elements become the fuel for revivals, energy for relationship with God, and absolute authority in the Kingdom of God.

There are endless ways by which God shapes the soul of a man.

For some all it takes is a look, as with Zacchaeus.
For some all it takes is for them to be blinded by light, as with Paul.
For some it takes a midnight confrontation, as with Nicodemus.
For some it takes a noonday conversation, as with the women at the well.
The only growth worth investing in is that which grows slowly. Great men are made in stages. Not overnight.

Rev. Philip Harrelson understands the value of preaching hope and possibility to the church and has contributed a message entitled Turning Failure Into Achievement of which the above is an excerpt. I encourage you to join today if you haven't already so you can glean from the entire powerful and life changing message.

"It is not what a man keeps but rather what he gives that makes him great. It is not what a man possesses but rather what possesses the man." - Excerpt from the message Turning Failure Into Achievement.
